About the Test
This test was a two roll event; 5.4 degrees in Roll 1 and 10.5 degrees in Roll 2. In the first roll at 5.4 degrees, the Hybrid III dummy was positioned according to the recommendations in FMVSS 208. For the second roll at 10.5 degrees, the neck and torso were flexed forward by 25 degrees. In Roll 1, the peak neck load was 10,006 N and the peak lower neck moment was 492 Nm. The peak intrusion speed at the top of the A-pillar was 8.2 mph with a peak crush of 7.8 inches and a residual crush of 5.0 inches. In Roll 2, the peak neck load was 4,685 N and the peak lower neck moment was 324 Nm. The peak intrusion speed at the top of the A-pillar was 15.0 mph with a peak crush of 9.4 inches and a residual crush of 5.9 inches.
