2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.2 Major damage and intrusion of roof panel with substantial inward buckling of roof header over driver position. Side window failures. Generally very poor performance.

About the Test

The test was a two roll event; 5.4 degrees in Roll 1 and 8.7 degrees in Roll 2 and the position of the dummy. In the first roll at 5.4 degrees, the Hybrid III dummy was positioned according to the recommendations in FMVSS 208. For the second roll at 8.7 degrees, the dummy was left in the position from the end of the first roll. In Roll 1, the peak neck load was 9,757 N and the peak lower neck moment was 470 Nm. The peak intrusion speed at the top of the A-pillar was 7.3 mph with a peak crush of 8.4 inches and a residual crush of 6.5 inches. In Roll 2, the peak neck load was 6,781 N and the peak lower neck moment was 396 Nm. The peak intrusion speed at the top of the A-pillar was 8.6 mph with a peak crush of 5.3 inches and a residual crush of 2.6 inches.
